Supporting the Women Behind the Business: A Grateful Moment on Positively Philly

In this edition of The Tea, we’re sharing a conversation from Positively Philly with Steph Pellish. She joined Rachel Malak & Abby Urban for tea ahead of a collaboration and networking event in March: She Who Leads.

There are moments in business that feel bigger than visibility or exposure. Moments that feel grounding, affirming, and deeply meaningful. Being invited to share the story of TeaCup Entrepreneurs on Positively Philly was one of those moments.

As Women’s History Month approaches and conversations around leadership and collaboration take center stage, the opportunity to talk openly about supporting women behind the business felt especially powerful. Not just because of the platform, but because of what the work truly represents.

From Isolation to Intention

TeaCup Entrepreneurs was born from a feeling many women know all too well: isolation.

Founder Steph Pellish didn’t start TeaCup with a grand business plan or a polished roadmap. She started it as a solopreneur, working virtually, balancing motherhood, business ownership, and life… and quietly feeling alone. That changed during a retreat for women business owners, when a simple moment of connection sparked something bigger.

Sitting at a table with twelve women, Steph realized she didn’t just want more networking, she wanted more community. Real conversations. Honest support. Space to be human.

What followed was beautifully organic. Small meetups with friends. Fifteen women gathered outside a Whole Foods. Tears. Relief. Shared understanding. A realization that this space was needed, and that women were hungry for it.

That moment grew into TeaCup Entrepreneurs, a community rooted in connection rather than competition.

Supporting the Woman Behind the Business

What makes TeaCup different is simple and profound.

It doesn’t start with business cards or sales pitches. It starts with the woman.

TeaCup Entrepreneurs exists to support the whole person: the business owner, the mother, the daughter, the leader still finding her footing. It creates a safe place for women to talk about the challenges of entrepreneurship alongside the realities of life without pressure to perform or pretend.

This is where women come to say:

  • This is harder than I expected.

  • I love what I do, but I’m overwhelmed.

  • I need support—not advice, not a hustle, just understanding.

And that’s where growth begins.

By focusing on confidence, leadership, and capacity, TeaCup helps women show up more fully. Not just in their businesses, but in their lives. Because when a woman feels supported, her business grows from a place of clarity and self-trust.

Why She Who Leads Matters

One of the most exciting expressions of this community is TeaCup’s signature event: She Who Leads (March 6, 2026)

This isn’t just another inspirational conference. It’s a day intentionally designed around collaboration and conversation—where leadership isn’t something taught at attendees, but rather explored with them.

She Who Leads brings women into the room to talk honestly about leadership:

  • What it looks like now

  • How it evolves

  • How collaboration strengthens it

It’s for women who are stepping into leadership, who are already leading, or who are ready for deeper conversations about what leadership truly means.

And it’s happening just ahead of International Women’s Day! An intentional reminder that when women lead together, the impact reaches far beyond business.

Gratitude, Pride, and What Comes Next

Being able to share this story on Positively Philly was an honor—not just for Steph, but for every woman who has ever walked into a TeaCup gathering and felt less alone.

This moment was about gratitude:

  • Gratitude for the women who showed up at that first meetup

  • Gratitude for a community that continues to grow with intention

  • Gratitude for the chance to say out loud: supporting women matters

It was also about pride. Pride in building something rooted in care. Pride in creating space for honest leadership. Pride in saying, without hesitation, that when women are supported, everyone benefits.

If you’re looking for community, meaningful conversation, and a place where your leadership is nurtured (not rushed) TeaCup Entrepreneurs invites you to the table.
